Helping rescue dachshunds reach their new homes!

Po-Po Bandito

Po or Bandit, a mutt

I'm weak and couldn't resist this little guy at the local rescue-groups adoption day. He is part australian shepard/fox hound. He had parvo as a puppy, has pretty beat up kidneys now; but how can you resist that cute face?

Piglet

piglet, a cat

Piglet is our newest animal friend - aquired from friends who adopted some cats off the street. She is a dainty cat that loves to play, all night long, with Grover. Piglet was named by Shannon.

Grover Kitty

Grover, a cat

Aquired from the local shelter by Bill and also named by Shannon. He is a large gray feline dachshundicus, a rare cat Dachshund.

Sir Lancelot

Lance, a dalmatian

Lance is our big Dachshund, also known as a Dalmatian! He is a spaztic wonderful dog who loves to play with, and pet, his smaller brothers. He is a great "big" brother even if he isn't the oldest.

Sadly, Lance had a sudden stroke that resulted in his passing away in April 2005. He was an amazingly kind and gentle Dalmatian who seemed to understand it was his job to let random kids pet him no matter how his day was going.

Oscar da Grouch

Oscar, a dachshund

His name is Demitrius Oscar, but we call him Oscar for short - no pun intended. He is the oldest Dachshund we have living with us at DUR headquarters and was the beginnings of Lisa's passion for the Doxie breed.

Sadly, Oscar passed away in Sept 2004 due to complications from an enlarged heart. He was a wonderful companion and we will always hold him dearly in our hearts.

Blue

Rest In Peace Blue, a dachshund

Also known as Ramblin Man Jackie Blue - Blue is our adopted baby. He had an accident as a pup and lost use of his right eye but he more than makes up for his lack of sight with plenty of spunk!

Unfortunatly Blue's lymphoma became very serious in December of 2003 and he passed away. He was a great dog and we will miss him dearly.

Alphabet

Rest in Peace Alphabet, a cat

Alphabet, also known as feline dachshundicus, a rare cat Dachshund. He is our oldest and quietest family member.

Sadly, Alphabet became seriously ill last year and past away. He will be in our hearts forever. We miss you Alphabet!

One eye'd Pete

Pete, a dachshund

Pete was our longest staying foster and, by staying with us so long, he has a place in our hearts forever. He too had a bad eye hence his monikor. He is a great little guy living out his retirement in warm Atlanta, GA.

We love all of our four legged kids and hope you have enjoyed meeting them!
